The magazine ArtRocker wrote a great review for the UK-album “Introducing… the best of Montt Mardié”! It went something like this:
“Released on Lucky Soul’s Ruffa Lane lable, this Swedish 23-year-old chap has crafted an album of unashamed glorious pop songs. From the elegant parping trumpets on lead single “Set Sail Tomorrow” the cravat wearing charmer enchants his way through to the glamorous pop on “Prom Night” the melancholic “Smile Charlie” and the big Motown feel of “The Windmill Turns All The Same”. Montt Mardié efortless blends soul with pop, folk and even show tunes with impossibly lovable results. The mournful “Castle In The Sky” highlights his ability to create heart-aching moments as well as uplifting melodies in many of the tracks. Despite the album’s name it isn’t a best of, but an incredible impressive debut UK release. At 17 songs it surprisingly never seems too long. You won’t find a better pop album this year. I agree.
